Electronic Recycling Drive March 19-St. Ferdinand Park

Mayor Robert G. Lowery has announced that Florissant will be hosting an Electronics Recycling Drive on Saturday, March 19  from 9-3 at St. Ferdinand Park.

An agreement was reached in a meeting  with the mayor,  Louis B. Jearls, Jr., director of Public Works, and Lewis C. Chartock, resident and CEO of Mers Goodwill, to set up a recycling drive.

Acceptable items to be collected are computers and all of their accessories, networking and telecommunications equipment, phones (home & cell), clocks, TV’s, VCR’s, DVD players, stereos, A/V equipment including cable and satellite boxes, home electronics and appliances, and any item with a gasoline engine, motor or a battery.

On Saturday, March 19 at St. Ferdinand Park. Mers Goodwill will have heavy duty equipment and 50 men and women on hand to assist in the drop off process. You may also request a receipt to be used for a tax deduction as a donation to 501C Mers Goodwill. This drive has been highly successful and was last held in the Ladue area.

Mayor Lowery said there will be more information on this recycling drive as the date gets closer “but I wanted to get the notice out to all interested parties. I also want to thank Peggy Moody, chairperson of the Environmental Quality Commission for Florissant for her helping  make this event happen
