Jets Got the Last Laugh; Old Time Football Back With Bears vs. Packers

By Randy Gardner

What a weekend for sports, last weekend and again this upcoming weekend. I sat in front of my TV all weekend watching NFL football as the world passed right on by me. You know what—I will be doing the exact same thing this weekend, watching  the games.

Seattle was no surprise getting beaten badly by the Bears but the Jets beating the Patriots was huge. By, now I’m sure that almost everyone has heard about the Jets head coach and his wife with the foot fetish videos, but did you hear the press conference by Wes Welker of the Patriots.

Welker talked about the game in a manner of simply bashing Rex Ryan, saying things like, “we will be putting our best foot forward” and many other foot tongue-in-cheek comments,.

He did it with such a straight face and right after the Patriots owner was talking about how their franchise was professional and above all of that. I guess In the end, it backfired on the Patriots as the Jets got the last laugh.

On now to the rivalry Bears versus Packers. Is this old time football or what? I can’t wait to see this one. In a way I am rooting for the Bears as I would like to see Mike Martz and Lovie Smith win it all. Plus remember, it is the anniversary of the Super Bowl Shuffle, the horrible video and song but out by the Fridge and the Bears.

Get Pujols Signed!

What a class act Albert Pujols is in terms of him signing his new deal. He basically said that there is a deadline now before Spring Training because he doesn’t want it to disturb the team after he reports. I would definitely agree. Pay him what he wants and move on. He deserves it.

Puhols hasn’t had a bad season yet with the Cards and look, he is the face of the franchise. He actually wants to be here in St. Louis, that says a lot. Our local pro teams often spend a ton of money on players that don’t pan out. We know what we are getting with Pujols and besides that, he is a huge attendance draw for the fans.
