Twenty-four competitors toughed in out in the blazing hot sun as they dazzled the judges and audience with their stunts at this year’s 4th annual Summer BMX/Skate Competition. The event was held at the Hazelwood Skate/BMX Park on June 18.

Co-sponsored by the Hazelwood Parks and Recreation Division and PlanNine Skate Park, the event was open to participants of all ages for a $5 entry fee.  A prize of $75 went to all the first-place finishers in four competition categories.  Here’s a list of the winners in each category:

Skateboard – Age 15 & Under: 1st Place – Chad Snow, 2nd Place – Chris Adkinson, 3rd Place – Asher Davenport

Skateboard – Age 16 & Over: 1st Place – James Pilla, 2nd Place – Corey Smith, 3rd Place – James Gholson

BMX Riders – Age 15 & Under: 1st Place – Mitch Proost, 3rd Place – Keylan Jones

BMX Riders – Age 16 & Over: 1st Place – Brenden Shelby, 2nd Place – Justin Buchowitz, 3rd Place – Virgil
