Area Residents Can Properly Dispose of Chemicals May 8 & 15

There are two more free events that are being sponsored by the Saint Louis Department of Health giving Saint Louis County residents an opportunity to drop off their unwanted household chemicals.

The County Health Department is offering an environmentally safe alternative for household chemical disposal through its spring household chemical collection events. The event, which was started over a ago has two remaining dates.

Residents of North County can particularly take advantage of the May 8 opportunity considering the chemical drop off site will be within close proximity of their homes. The event will be held at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley. It starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 3p.m.

The last chance for both North County and St. Louis residents to drop off their unwanted household chemicals will be on May 15 at Parkway Central High School in Chesterfield.  That event  starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 3p.m.

The cost for the household chemical events is covered by the Saint Louis County landfill surcharge fund. Proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or tax bill, will be required.
