Cabela’s at St. Louis Mills Names GM;Now Taking Applications for 300 Jobs

Cabela’s®, the World’s Foremost Outfitter® of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, has named Mathew Martini as general manager of its newest destination retail store in Hazelwood. Currently under construction, the Cabela’s store is set to open in the spring of 2007, with 2-3 million visitors expected annually. This will be the company’s 19th retail location. Applications will be taken for approximately 300 jobs.

The 130,000-square-foot, large-format superstore, Cabela’s first destination retail store in Missouri, will be part of the St. Louis Mills, a 1.1 million-square-foot retail and entertainment center in Hazelwood, located just off I-270, north of I-70 (Exit 22B, Hwy. 370).

Martini is currently building his management team and will hire as many as 300 associates from the surrounding area to staff the store. Cabela’s employees are known for their outdoor knowledge and expertise – and exceptional retail and customer service skills.

Mathew Martini comes to Cabela’s with 15 years of retail management at Home Depot. Most recently, he served as Home Depot’s general store manager in Fargo, North Dakota. Martini has also assisted in opening numerous new stores for Home Depot in California and Colorado.
