Benefit Many Communithy Programs
Each year, Ferguson Twilight Run proudly invests in nonprofit organizations that strengthen health, opportunities and well-being across North St. Louis County.
Donnie White Sr. Memorial Beneficiary Award Named in memory of race planning committee member Donnie White Sr., the
award honors his leadership and support for Ferguson Twilight Run.
The 2026 beneficiaries are:
- Empower North County Youth Soccer Program
- Girls on the Run St. Louis, Ferguson-Florissant School District
- The Salvation Army-Ferguson Community Empowerment Center
To date, more than $140,350 has been shared with local nonprofit programs and services that are committed to impacting positive, healthy outcomes.
Community Impact
The 2026 the beneficiary recipients will have a positive community impact:
Empower North County’s youth soccer program serves approximately 600 children in grades preK-6 at Koch Park in Florissant. It encourages “youth to work as teammates and creates community connections.” The majority of participating youth – 80% – attend Ferguson-Florissant and Hazelwood schools. The beneficiary award will assist in expanding the program.
Girls on the Run St. Louis, Ferguson-Florissant School District “empowers girls, coaches and families through a dynamic, evidence-based curriculum that strengthens social, emotional and physical well-being.” The after-school program is for girls in grades 3-8 and includes training for a 5K (3.1 mile) hosted by Girls on the Run in the fall and spring. The beneficiary award provides scholarships to participate in Girls on the Run.
The Salvation Army-Ferguson Community Empowerment Center has a youth program, Spark Academy, for children age 7-13. The academy focuses on structured physical activity, social-emotional learning and health education. The beneficiary award will help purchase youth fitness equipment. Youth served by the program live in North St. Louis County communities such as Ferguson, Berkeley, Jennings, Riverview and more.
