Saint Louis County Pet Adoption Center to Host
Responsible Pet Ownership Education and Microchip
– The Saint Louis County Pet Adoption Center is hosting a community-centered educational event Saturday, July 12 from noon to 3 p.m. at the North County Recreation Complex.
The event will bring together local vendors and pet-focused resources from around the community to help promote responsible pet ownership in Saint Louis County. Five Acres Animal Shelter will be offering pet owners the opportunity to get their dogs microchipped, free of charge. St. Louis County S.A.V.E. has partnered with Five Acres to supply 100 microchips to be administered during the event.
Members of Five Acres vet staff will be on-site administering microchips at no cost, on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Microchipping your pet is the best way to ensure you can be reunited with your dog, should they ever go missing. Microchips, which last for the entire animal’s life, allow area shelters to quickly return animals to their owners, preventing overcrowding in shelters.
Saint Louis County Pet Adoption Center staff will also be on hand to provide information and answer questions about adoption and foster programs as well as how the community can get involved through the volunteer program.
