UNION REPRESENTING GROCERY WORKERS WORKINK ON NEW CONTRACT
The largest private sector local union in St. Louis and their largest employers, Schnucks Markets Inc. and Dierbergs Markets, began bargaining new contracts that will cover approximately 7,000 employees in Missouri
United Food and Commercial Workers Local 655 represents the majority of Schnucks employees in the eastern half of the state in 70 stores, 65 of those covered by this agreement in addition to representing employees at 24 Dierbergs locations. The current union contract for these workers expires in May of 2025. “We look forward to this process of bargaining the wages and benefits for these hard-working employees that are always there to serve the public,” said UFCW Local 655 President David Cook. “Our goal is simple: to negotiate the best possible agreement for our partners and our hometown employers.”
“We’re looking forward to continuing our partnership with UFCW Local 655,” said David Bell, Schnucks Executive Vice President – Chief Financial and Administrative Officer. “We value our Local 655 teammates and their efforts to serve our customers each day, living our company’s purpose to nourish people’s lives.”
