’Tis the season of giving, and it is that joy of giving and sharing that Ebenezer Scrooge finally discovers in Charles Dickens’ classic “A Christmas Carol.”

The Hawthorne Players production of this familiar story will return to the Florissant Civic Center Theatre stage, just in time for Christmas, with all the members of the Hawthorne Players cast eager to share their theatrical gifts with area families and friends.

The show, adapted and directed by Nancy Crouse, will be presented on Dec, 18 at 8 p.m, Dec. 19 at 2 and 7 p.m. and on Dec. 20 at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for older adults and students, and a special $7 ticket for children 12 and under.  Seating is reserved and may be ordered at the Box Office at (314) 921-5678.

“Our audiences have been asking for “A Christmas Carol’ for a long time, and we are so thrilled that the Hawthorne Players are returning this wonderful story to our stage,” said Gary Gaydos, Florissant Civic Center Theatre Manager.

Paul James stars as Scrooge.  The versatile actor has appeared in over 90 productions, including work in film and on stage in many regional theatre productions.

“A Christmas Carol” will fill the Florissant Civic Center stage, with lovely sets, beautiful costumes by Jean Heckmann and spirited singing, dancing and acting.  Nancy Crouse adapted the classic story and directs this full-scale production.

Mary and Ike Eichenberger are directing the music and Julie Strathman choreographed the dances.

Director/designer/adapter Nancy Crouse directed Hawthorne’s season opener, “Stepping Out,” and then designed the set for the summer musical, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”
