Soroptimist’s seek applications for Women’s Opportunity Award; Dec. 15 deadline


Women who serve as the head of household for their families and seek financial assistance to attend school can now obtain applications for the Women’s Opportunity Award, presented by Soroptimist International of North St. Louis County.

The award of $750 may be used offset expenses associated with the effort to attain higher education, including, tuition, books, childcare, carfare or any other education-related expense.

Eligibility Requirements include:

-be a woman as head of household with primary financial responsibility for supporting your family

-attend or have been accepted to an undergraduate degree program;

-have financial need;

-be motivated to achieve your education and career goals;

-reside in the St. Louis Metropolitan area

Soroptimist International of North St. Louis County Women’s Opportunity Award applications are available by contacting Pat Komoroski at 314-344-7208. The deadline for application submission is December 15, 2008, incomplete applications will not be considered.
