Mayor Tim Lowery announced that the City of Florissant along with the St Louis County Veterans Coalition, VFW, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion, 1st Marine Division
Association, Vietnam Veterans of America, Korean War Veterans of America, Police and Fire Departments and Boy Scouts of America will jointly host a Memorial Day ceremony
on Monday, May 27 at the James J. Eagan Center. The ceremony will start at 9 a.m.
Memorial Day is a solemn day of remembrance for everyone who has died serving in the American Armed Forces. The holiday, originally known as Decoration Day, started after the Civil War to honor the Union and Confederate dead and has continued each year since 1868.Please join our North County Community in honoring our fallen service men and women at a Memorial Day Observance.
It is an outdoor event at the Flag Pole and Memorial to all service men and women. There is limited seating available but you are welcome to bring chairs and it is handicapped accessible.
