Next Walk Through History Event Aug. 23

The City of Florissant and Florissant Old Town Partners announced a plaque dedication has been set for Wednesday, Aug. 23 to honor the late “Jack” Behlmann.

This will be the 59th Walk Through History plaque in honor of someone that have made valuable contributions to the City of Florissant or someone with Florissant roots that has impacted our community.

The ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. in front of 250 rue St. Francois. The plaque dedication will take place before the start of the fourth Wednesday Night Out

festivities which is hosted by the City of Florissant and Florissant Old Town Partners located on the grounds of city hall. The movie The Mario Brothers will be shown starting around 7:30 p.m.

John “Jack” Behlmann was one of 12 siblings raised on a farm in Florissant. In 1948 Jack & John “Tucker” Kohnen established Kay Bee Electric with offices in Florissant. Jack & Anita Meyer were married in 1949 and raised six children. Jack was an active member of Sacred Heart Church, Florissant Optimist & Founding member of Crest Bowl. He loved spending time with family, friends and boating on the Mississippi River.
