VFW Post 4105 , Florissant Host Day of Remembrance

The City of Florissant and VFW Post 4105 held a remembrance ceremony for the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.  Mayor Tim Lowery gave the opening remarks and other speakers followed with stories  on some of : our local first responders who went to New York to help rescue efforts.

The Colors will be presented by the Florissant Police Department Color Guard. The Daughters of the American Revolution, Knight of Columbus 4th Degree, 1st Marine Division Association, VFW and American Legion Auxiliary’s and other community partners were present for the ceremony. Members of the 1st Marine Division and Florissant American Legion Post 444 closed the ceremony with Taps.

“We will never forget the many Heroes of that day, said Mayor Lowery.  He said our community Police, Fire and EMS  attended  and “acknowledged the ultimate sacrifice their New York comrades made that day,”
