Annual Free Thanksgiving Dinner at
St. Ferdinand Church Forced to Cancel

After 20 years of providing Thanksgiving dinners to the North County community, changes were planned in dinner arrangements for 2020. However, COVID increases

in St. Louis County has curtailed the revised plan and the Thanksgiving dinner committee has decided to cancel the event completely.
Committee leader Patricia Meitz said:

“With the uptick in the virus, Sam Page requesting us to stay in a bubble and possibly shut down. The committee felt we could not put our

volunteers at more risk. It is with deep regret that we took this action,” she added ” Due to previous COVID-19 restrictions the annual dinner at St. Ferdinand Church would

have been a drive-thru format with patrons pickup their meals from their vehicles. Meals had been available in previous years both dine-in and take-out.

Ten churches participate in the planning of the event each year. They are: Halls Ferry Christian Church, Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, St. Angela Merici,

St. Martin de Porres, St. Norbert Catholic Church, St. Rose Philippine Duchesne, St. Sabina Catholic Church, St. Ferdinand Church, Olivette Missionary Baptist Church and The Body Christian Church.
