Trip to Springfield, Ill. On Amtrak
The Florissant Senior Office is sponsoring a trip on Tuesday, Nov. 10 on Amtrak train to Springfield, IL to take in the Lincoln Presidential Museum, Illinois State Capitol, Illinois Museum and the Lincoln Home. The group will have a personal trolley to take them to the different sites. The cost for a Florissant Senior Resident is $55.00 and for a Senior Non-Resident is $60. Tickets are available for Senior residents on Aug. 18 and non-residents on Aug. 25 at the Florissant Senior Dining Center. The group will leave J.J. Eagan Center at 6:15 a.m. and plan on returning by 7:15 p.m. For more information call the Florissant Senior Trip Line at 314-595-3636.
Ongoing Activities
Adult Club of Florissant will meet at 11 a.m. at the James Eagan Center, lower level second Tuesday of the month Must be a Florissant resident with ID card. Membership fee for club is $10 annually. Call Norman Loebs at 921-0037.
Monday-Wednesday Bingo Club meets weekly, 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., at the James J. Eagan Center.
Senior dances are held each Tuesday at the Savoy in Downtown Ferguson from 7-9:45 p.m. Admission is $6. Music is by the “Starlighters.” For more information, call Mary, 521-2688 or Nonie, 521-7986.
Florissant Seniors Line Dancing Club meets every Wednesday at the James J. Eagan Center, 12:30-2 p.m. Must be a Florissant resident and have a Golden Age Pass. Registration is not necessary. Couples, groups, and individuals are welcome.
Florissant Seniors Bridge Club meets every Friday, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., in the Arts and Crafts room at the James J. Eagan Center. A resident ID is required. Bring a sandwich. Coffee will be provided.
Pinochle Club meets every Tuesday, from 7-9 p.m., at the JFK Center at Koch Park, 315 Howdershell Rd. A current Resident Picture I.D. is required. For more information call the Senior Office.
North County Computer Club meets the first and third Friday at 1 p.m. at Prairie Commons Library, 915 Utz Lane in Hazelwood. The club is for seniors desiring to share computer secrets with others. Call 837-6102 or visit www.corcc-stl.com.
