Hazelwood Northwest Middle School will celebrate its 50th anniversary with an open house featuring guest speakers, music, special performances and tours of the school on Thursday, Sept. 10 from 6-8 p.m. The school opened in 1959 as Hazelwood Junior High. In 2002, it was named Hazelwood Middle School. In 2007, the name changed to Hazelwood Northwest Middle School when the District opened four new middle schools named after their location in the area.
