Hazelwood West Sends 3 Swim Relays To State

Hazelwood West is sending three Boys Swimming Relay Teams to the Missouri Class Two State Championships Thursday-Friday (Nov. 8-9) at the St. Peters’ Rec-Plex.

Preliminaries begin with the 200-Yard Medley Relay Thursday at 12:30. A top 16 finish qualifies for the Friday 10 a.m. Finals. The top eight finals qualifiers swim for medals and state championships.

Hazelwood West qualified for state in the 200-Ytrard Medley and Freestyle Relays in the Oct 23 Suburban Conference Green Pool Preliminaries. West swam the Medley in 1:55.28 and the 200 Freestyle in 1:40.85. The Wildcat 400-Yard Freestyle swam the Oct. 17 meet against Wentzville-Timberland in 3:54.54 to qualify

McCLUER JUNIOR DEVON TALLENT will swim in two Freestyle events in the Class One Preliminaries Friday at 5 p.m. A top-16 finish in one or two events sends him to the Finals Saturday (Nov. 10) at 3 p.m. Tallent qualified at 200 Yards in the Aug. 28 meet at Hazelwood West by swimming in 1:56.13 while in the Oct. 26 Suburban Conference Blue Pool Finals he swan the qualifying 500 Yard event in 5:14.78.
