This year’s festival is Oct. 14
Come join Florissant Old Town Partners, City of Florissant, and the Florissant Fine Arts and Employees Community Fund of Boeing at the 21st Annual Old Town Fall Festival Sunday, Oct. 14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. this year.
This yearly neighborhood festival grows more each year, and in previous years over 35,000 visitors attended the weekend events. A full eleven blocks in Old Town (from Florissant Rd. down to St. Ferdinand Shrine) will be closed off for the event. All side streets will be blocked off during the event as well.
Events include a craft fair, flea market, chili cook-off, pony rides, wine and cheese garden, large flower show and competition, historic displays, children’s activities, pumpkin decorating, re-enactors and celebration of our cultural heritage.
The street will be lined with activities for everyone with over 150 booths including games to play, sale items, food and beverages.
Of course, Fido Follies will be at the Government Center, 1055 rue St. Francois, at the very top of the street. Barronwood Kennels will emcee again this year and will have trophies for the largest dog, the tallest dog, the best kisser, the best trick, best costume and other categories.
The Florissant Police Officers Welfare Association Car & Bike Show is back again on the Knights of Columbus Grounds, 25 W. Washington. Registration is from 8 a.m. to noon with an entry fee donation. Over 50 hand-made trophies will be awarded at 3:30 p.m. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Florissant Police Department Canine
Program.
The entertainment at the Lawyers Building in the 100 Block of St. Francois, will be the Ralph Butler Band at 1 and 3 p.m.
Other entertainment: Bucket List Band, Dennis Schilligo, Retro Band, After Hours Sax Quartet, Dan Sproat, Solo Musician, Kraig Kalkbrenner- Flint Knapper, Story Teller, Florissant Barbershoppers, the Retro Band, DK Dance Productions, The Florissant Men of Harmony, Fredbird, Doo Wop, North County Big Band, Angy and Darby, Cookie the Clown, the Kincaid Karacter Puppets, story teller, and pumpkin decorating. The Hazelwood School District will be offering the opportunity for children to create their own treasures with the help of volunteer teachers.
There will be free shuttles running up and down St. Catherine all day for patrons’ use.
More than 60 crafters will show off their talent with hand crafted works for everyone to browse and buy. The craft fair is located near City Hall and the old Bank of America parking lot.
The Children’s Hands-on Art Activities tent, sponsored by the Hazelwood Early Childhood Program, will be set up on the lawn of Florissant City Hall.
This is a dog-friendly event and water bowls will be provided on every block. Dogs must be leashed and licensed.
