Hazelwood East Boys Track And Field went to University City High School, a Balson Avenue at North Hanley Road for the Charlie Beck Invitational and left with a third-place finish.
Hazelwood East scored 185 points but was seven points behind Cahokia, Ill. (192). Webster Groves ran away with the title by scoring 247 points. North Technical was sixth with 66.
Meanwhile, Hazelwood West finished fourth at Wentzville-Holt High by scoring 81 points. Columbia-Rock Bridge won the Pow Wow Invitational by scoring 178 points, Laude-Horton Watkins was second with 111 and East St. Louis was third with 104. Trinity Catholic finished fifth with 65.5.
HAZEWOOD EAST — In the Beck Invitational, with six runner-up finishes, there were two winners. Senior Shaun Browder threw the Javelin a winning 109’1” while the while the 4×20-Meter Relay won the event with a 1:31.05 sprint/exchange. Senior Loys Parker managed to finish second in the 110-Meter High Hurdles in 19.36 seconds and took third in the Triple Jump with a hop, skip and a jump of 38’2”.
Other than Loys Parker, runner up finishes includes the 4×100 Relay (45.45 seconds) as well as by four individuals. They include seniors Keyonta Parker (100-Meter Dash-11.7 seconds), Jaden Williams (300-Meter Intermediate Hurdles-42.73 seconds) and Jordan Williams (Shot Put-45’6.5 seconds) as well as sophomore Brian Stiles (200-Meter Dash-23.02 seconds).
HAZELWOOD WEST — At the Wentzville-Holt Pow Wow Invitational there were two winners, two runner-up finishes and a pair of third place finishes.
Winning at Holt for Hazelwood West includes the 4×200-Meter Relay, in 1:32.26 and sophomore Justin Robinson, in the 400-Meter Dash (48.56 seconds). Taking runner up honors include senor Bryan Carroll in the 800-Meter Run (2:00.27) and junior Yuto Wada in the 3,200-Meter Run (10:27.38) Finishing third includes Senior Perry Morrow in the Discus (121’11”) and sophomore Aaron Holmes in the 300-Meter Intermediate Hurdles (41.15 seconds).
TRINITY CATHOLIC — At Wentzville-Holt, there were two winners and a pair of seconds. Junior Kemric Winston won the 200-Meter Dash with a 22.14-second sprint while freshman Malcolm Harvey won the Javelin with a throw of 129’5”. Finishing second includes senior Issac Trice in the Long Jump (21’3.5”) and the 4×200-Meter Relay (1:33.23).
NORTH TECHNICAL — At University City, there were five third-place finishes in five events including two by senior Jason Myers, in the 300-Meter Intermediate Hurdles (44.94 seconds) and the Long Jump (18’9.25”). Other third-place finishers include senior Brandon Patterson in the 400-Meter Dash (54.31 seconds), junior Abdoulaya Sarr in the 1,600-Meter Run (5:02.18) and the 4×800-Meter Relay (9:01.5).
RIVEVIEW GARDENS AT LINDBERGH — At the Sixth Annual Flyer Classic, Riverview Gardens senior Momoh Brema won three sprint events. Brema won the 100-Meter Dash (11.16 seconds), 200-Meter Dash (22.07 seconds) and 400-Meter Dash (54.46 seconds).
McCLUER NORTH AT LINDBERGH — Finishing behind Brema at 400 Meters in the Flyer Class include sophomore Cetris Ivy (second-51.86 seconds) and junior Kyran Lacy (third-52.67 seconds). In addition, senior Raevon Gooden finished third in the 300-Meter Intermediate Hurdles (43.11 seconds)
ALSO AT HOLT-HAZELWOOD CENTRAL took second in the 4×100-Meter Relay (44.54 seconds) while McCLUER SOUTH-BERKELEY took third in the 4×200-Meter Relay (1:34).
