‘The Fantasticks’ is coming to Florissant Civic Center For 2 Weekends in April

Hawthorne Players of Florissant will present the musical, The Fantasticks, at the Florissant Civic Center Theatre, located at Parker Rd. and Waterford Dr. directed by Colleen Heneghan starting April 13

Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on April 13, 14, 20 and 21, with a matinee at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 22. Tickets are $20 for regular tickets, $18 for older adults and students, and $15 each for groups of six or more. Call the box office at 314-921-5678 or go to www.HawthornePlayers.com.

   The Fantasticks ran for 42 years, making it the world’s longest-running musical. The timeless and poetic fable centers around a boy, a girl and their two fathers who try to keep them apart. As the young couple matures, so must their love. Poignant, funny and romantic, the show features notable songs, including the popular, “Try to Remember.”

The cast includes Tim Callahan, Janine Norman, Sean Michael, Mark Lull, Paul Morris, John Medford, John Robertson and Denise Chappell Nickels.

   The Fantasticks is presented by special arrangement with Musical Theatre International. Book and lyrics are by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt.
