The City of Hazelwood is gearing up for another year of Easter fun for people of all ages. Hazelwood’s 14th Annual Adult Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for Friday, March 23, at White Birch Park from 7 to 9 p.m.
The city’s popular Easter Eggstravaganza for kids, ages 10 and under, is set for Saturday, March 31, at 10 a.m. Hazelwood formed a partnership with Valley Industries to fill 16,000 Easter eggs with candy for its two major events. Even the Easter Bunny made a visit to Valley Industries to supervise the production and give the workers high-fives.
Annual Adult Easter Egg Hunt
This is the 14th year that the City of Hazelwood has offered an egg hunt for adults, age 21 and over. Tickets are $10 per person. They can be purchased in advance at the Hazelwood Community Center or Civic Center East. Once the tickets are gone, the event is sold out.
Participants should bring a flashlight and a container to collect and search for thousands of hidden eggs. Each person will be limited to finding 12 Easter eggs and then turning them in to see if any have hidden prizes inside. Everyone on the hunt grounds must have a ticket and be at least 21 years old. Registration begins at 7 p.m.; the hunt starts at 8 p.m.
A DJ will be playing popular tunes throughout the night. Participants can bring their own beverages, coolers and lawn chairs. But please keep the glass containers at home. The event will still be held if its rainy and wet.
Easter Eggstravaganza for Kids
This event is one of North County’s biggest Easter egg hunts for kids, age 10 and under. The admission is free and open to the public. The starting time is 10 a.m. – SHARP!
Thousands of Easter eggs will be scattered throughout the park, which will be sectioned off into five areas for the following age groups: Under 24 months; Ages 2-3; Ages 4-5; Ages 6-7; and Ages 8-10.
One boy bike and one girl bike will be given away for each age group, using raffle tickets. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance to greet the kids and pose for photos with them. Miss Hazelwood 2017-2018 Jessica Schreck will be escorting the Easter Bunny and giving out candy.
