 Garden Glow Opens Nov. 17

garden glowGarden Glow installations are dispersed throughout Missouri Botantical Garden for the annual holiday event that runs Nov. 17-Jan.1 nightly. Walking is the primary means of viewing the exhibit.

It is just over one mile of walking to experience every element of Glow, though visitors are welcome to customize what they view on the path. Paths are one way. Visitors may repeat the walk as many times as they like. Benches will be available along the path. For safety reasons trams will not be in operation.

Pathways and ramps are ADA-compliant and can accommodate all single-seat wheelchairs, scooters, and powerchairs up to 35″ wide.

HOP ABOARD THE GARDENLAND EXPRESS

The annual Gardenland Express Holiday Flower and Train Show will be Nov. 18 through Jan.1. The show delights visitors of all ages with G-scale trains of many eras traveling along 900 feet of track through a miniature holiday landscape made up of festive decorations and thousands of fresh plants, accented by beautiful poinsettias and flowers.

Hours are daily, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., $5 per person (ages 3 and up), or free for Garden members and their children. It is also included with all Garden Glow evening admissions.

Tilles Park’s Winter Wonderland Opens Nov. 22

tilles winter wonderlandWinter Wonderland at Tilles Park, 9551 Litzinger Rd., is open Wednesday, Nov. 22 through Saturday, Dec. 30 for vehicular traffic and carriage rides Sunday through Friday from 5:30pm – 9:30pm.

The park will be closed Christmas Eve. Saturdays are closed to vehicular traffic and reserved for carriage rides only.

RECYCLE YOUR CHRISTMAS LIGHTS THAT DON’T WORK

Bring your old Christmas lights when you come to Tilles Park for Winter Wonderland, and we’ll recycle them for you!

Winter Wonderland Admission Fees:

  • $40.00 Commercial transport van
  • $90.00 Tour bus

No reservations are needed and admission is paid as vehicles exit the park.

  • From Interstate 40/64 head south on McKnight Road.
  • Vehicular traffic should stay to the right and enter the park from the McKnight Road entrance gate.
  • All traffic will exit the park from the Litzsinger Road exit gate.

Holiday Market at Cahokia Mounds Thanksgiving Weekend

cahokia mountsThirty American Indian artists, craftpersons, and vendors will sell crafts and artwork at Cahokia Mounds Nov. 24 from 12-5 p.m. and Nov. 25-26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

At this 14th Annual Fall Native American Holiday Market, the items for sale include jewelry, blankets, paintings, books, herbals, weaving, baskets, pottery, bronze work and more.

The Cahokia Mounts Holiday Market is a great place to kick off your holiday shopping because of the variety of items offered.
