Florissant Parks Host Cross Country, Soccer; LHSN Hosts Girls Volleyball

Two Florissant City Parks will be sites for the Oct. 21 District Cross Country meet and the Oct. 21-28 Boys Soccer tournament. Meanwhile, Lutheran High School North will host a Class Two Volleyball tournament Oct. 17, 19.

Koch Park , site of the Sept. 23 Hazelwood West Terry Meatheany Invitational, will host the Class Four, District Three Cross Country meet. Hazelwood West hosts this 15-team meet with boys teams from Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, McCluer North, McCluer High, Riverview Gardens, Francis Howell North, Gateway STEM, Ladue Horton Watkins, Pattonville, Ritenour and Webster Groves; Boys teams from Chaminade College Prep and St. Louis University High and the girls from Nerinx Hall.

The top four teams and runners from other teams that finish in the top 30 compete against sectional qualifiers from District Four in the Sectional Two meet at Parkway Central. The top four sectional finishers and runners from other teams that finish in the top 30 advance to the State Championships, Nov. 4 at Oak Hills Golf Center, Jefferson City.

Florissant Valley Civic Center Park, Eagan and Waterford Drives, will host Class Four, District Three Boys Soccer with tourney host McCluer North, defending tourney champion Pattonville, likely top seed Hazelwood West and Hazelwood Central. Pending on the outcome Civic Center Park or Pattonville Stadium hosts the Oct. 31 Sectional.

ELSEWHERE, McCluer High is vying for the top seed in Class Three, District Seven, Oct. 21-28 at Fort Zumwalt East, competing against Fort Zumwalt South, third in state last year, and St. Charles High. The District Champion will play at home Oct. 31 with McCluer at Civic Center Park if available.

Class Four and Three Sectional winners will play in the Nov. 4 Quarterfinals while the State Championships will be Nov. 10-11 at World Wide Technologies Soccer Park, Fenton

CLASS TWO, DISTRICT FIVE will be Oct. 16, 18 at defending state champion John Burroughs competing against Trinity Catholic, Lutheran North and North Tech with the winner to host the Oct 24 Sectional. Quarterfinals are Oct. 28 and the state championships are Nov. 2-3 at WWT Soccer Park.

   GIRLS VOLLEYBALL — Lutheran North will host Class Two, District Five Oct. 17-19 as the top seed competing against Crossroads College Prep, Trinity Catholic, Collegiate School of Medicine-Bio Science, Sumner, North Tech and Northwest Academy of Law. In Class Four Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, Hazelwood West, McCluer High, McCluer North and Riverview Gardens will be in District Five Oct.16-18 at top seed Ritenour. In Class Three Incarnate Word Academy is the top seed in District Six Oct. 16-18 at second-seeded Duchesne with McCluer South-Berkeley and Jennings among the competitors.

District winners advance to the Oct. 21 Sectionals at District Eight winners for a chance at state Nov. 3-4 at the Show Me Center, Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.
