The City of Hazelwood and its police department and fire department joined together to welcome home CPL Dominique Johnson, USMC, after he arrived from Lambert Airport to his neighborhood in Hazelwood on Saturday, Aug. 26.

Corporal Johnson, Military Police Officer (MPO), returned to his home on short leave starting this past weekend to visit with family and friends after completing a tour in Iraq. He will be reporting back to Camp Pendleton (CA) on Sept.10.

The City of Hazelwood as well as its police and fire department came together to welcome Johnson back home. An aerial fire truck hung an American flag across the road at the intersection of Utz Ln and Brookes Dr. The police department had a patrol vehicle at the site and several officers.

In addition, residents and well-wishers stood on both sides of the street as Johnson stood in the back of a specially designed 2017 Toyota Tacoma (Bommarito Automotive Group) Military Support Vehicle as it made its way down the road Saturday afternoon.

The truck was led by a line of 20 or more patriot riders. There were cheers, car horns honking, miniature American flags waving across the sky, and “Welcome Home” signs greeting the marine.

CPL Johnson is the son of Staci Coleman. He is 23 years old and just finished his tour in Iraq, training Iraqi soldiers and seeing fighting action as a Military Police officer.
