Following is a list of Easter egg hunts and activities:
• Florissant Parks and Recreation Department, is sponsoring it’s first ever Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 4, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., at the James J. Eagan Center. The hunt will begin promptly at 10:30. Admission is free, but by ticket only. A current Florissant resident card must be presented to obtain tickets. A limit of 200 tickets will be available at the James J. Eagan Center, the JFK Community Center (315 Howdershell Rd.), and Florissant City Hall (955 St. Francois St.). Participants will be treated to snacks and drinks donated by local businesses. For information, call 921-4466.
• Florissant Parks and Recreation Department Snack with the Easter Bunny will be held on Saturday, April 4, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., at the James J. Eagan Center. Admission is free, but by ticket only. A current Florissant resident card must be presented to obtain tickets. A limit of 200 tickets will be available at the Florissant Civic Center, the JFK Community Center (315 Howdershell Rd.) • Jamestown Mall and the City of Black Jack will hold an Easter Eggs Hunt Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 10 a.m – noon. The children will meet in Center Court where they will be given a coupon for a photo with the Easter Bunny, a free Easter bag and bunny ears. The children will then go to Jamestown Mall stores to hunt eggs full of candy and prizes. Two of the eggs will contain a boy’s bicycle and girl’s bicycle.
• Easter Eggstravaganza will be held on Saturday, April 11, at 10 a.m., in White Birch Park. The event will feature a visit from the Easter Bunny, an egg hunt (for ages 10 and under, which is divided into age brackets), prizes, a bike giveaway, and a free, children’s theater in the gymnasium following the hunt. The Piwacket Theater for Children will perform Alice@wonder.com beginning at approximately 10:40 a.m. The event is free and Hazelwood residency is not required.
• Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Salem Lutheran Church, 5180 Parker Rd. in Black Jack on Saturday, April 11 at 10 a.m. (314-741-6781)
• The Florissant Valley Jaycees will their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 11 from 11-a at Bangert Park for all children
• Easter Egg Hunt at Zion United Church of Christ, 5710 N. Hwy. 67, (1/4 mile west of Jamestown Mall) Saturday, April 11 at 11 a.m. Bring a basket for eggs. There is a separate area for toddlers. Free. (314-741-1590)
• St. Peter’s Evangelical UCC in Ferguson will be hosting a pancake breakfast and Easter egg hunt on April 11. The all-you-can-eat breakfast, which includes pancakes, sausage, juice, and coffee, will run from 8-10 a.m. Tickets for adults cost $5 and tickets for kids 10 and under are $2. The Easter egg hunt will start at 10 a.m. and is free and open to the public – everyone is welcome. St. Peter’s is located at 1425 Stein Road. For additional information call 314-521-5694.
• An Easter Sunrise Service is planned April 12 at 6:30a.m. at January-Wabash Park, January Rd at Florissant Road North in Ferguson, The service will be held on the west side of the lake. Bring your own chair if desired. Preaching for the informal service will be Howard Nelson of the Church of the Latter Day Saints. Clergy from the various churches in Ferguson will participate as well. A free-will offering will benefit PAKT and the Ferguson Caring League. Coffee and donuts afterward. The event is sponsored by the Ferguson Ministerial Alliance and the Ferguson Partnership of Churches. For more information, contact Rev.
