North Star Boy Scouts Present the ‘Good Scout’ Award To Dick Schul

The North Star Boy Scout District recently honored R.J. “Dick” Schul, Emerson Group vice president, at the “Community for Scouting Dinner. The event was held at the Ferguson Brewing Company with a cocktail reception and dinner. Over 100 community leaders attended to honor Schul. Dick was the North County Friends of Scouting chairman for six years and the North Star district chairman. Today he is still active with the North Star District on the Friends of Scouting committee.

In addition to his involvement with Scouting he serves on several boards. Dick is currently serving on the St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf Board, Maryland Heights Chamber of Commerce, St. Louis Make a Wish Foundation Board, and he mentors under privileged young adults for Boys Hope Girls Hope. Scouts and Youth in the St. Louis area making a impact on our local communities.

For all his contributions to community   youth,   Schul was presented the “Good Scout” award. Chancellor Tom George, of the University of Missouri-St. Louis, a previous honoree, was in attendance to support him.

The pledge drive at the dinner exceeded its s goal of $55,00 by raising $58,419 in pledges.
