For the past few years the Missouri State High School Activities Association has been hosting two District meets, two Sectional meets or, in the case of Lutheran High School North this season, a district and a sectional meet in Track & Field.
On May 13 Lutheran North will be hosting Class Three, District Three and Class One, Sectional One. The Sectional is a result from qualifying by the top four finishers from 19 Boys and 19 Girls events (with javelin added) from Class One, District One (New Haven) and Class One, District Two (La Plata), which takes place Saturday, May 6.
Schools from Class One, Districts One and Two are from eastern Missouri, southeastern Missouri, northeastern Missouri and north-central Missouri including Barat Academy and The Fulton School at St. Albans High (Franklin County). The top four finishers from each Class One, Sectional One event qualify for Class One State May 19-20 at Jefferson City High, along with Para events qualifiers.
Competing in Class Three, District Three include Lutheran North, McCluer South-Berkeley, North Tech, Trinity Catholic, Duchesne, Lutheran St. Charles County, Northwest Academy of Law, O’Fallon Christian, Orchard Farm, Sumner, Winfield and Wright City. Sectional qualifiers, top four finishers from each event, compete against qualifiers from Class Three, District Four (from Centralia), in Class Three, Sectional Two May 20 at Montgomery County High. Going to Class Three State, May 26-27 in Jefferson City are the top four finishers from Sectional Two.
CLASS FIVE — All three high schools in the Hazelwood School District — Central, East and West — along with McCluer North will compete May 13 in District Three at Parkway Central along with DeSmet Jesuit, Francis Howell Central, Francis Howell North, Pattonville and Ritenour. Sectional qualifiers will compete against qualifiers from District Four (hosted by Class Five competitor Columbia-Battle) in Class Five, Sectional Two May 20 at Montgomery County High for the shot at qualifying in Class Five State May 26-27 in Jefferson City.
CLASS FOUR — McCluer will be competing May 13 in District Four at Columbia-Battle along with Fort Zumwalt East, Fort Zumwalt South, Fulton, Hannibal, Liberty (Lake St. Louis), Mexico (Mo.), Parkway North, St. Charles High, St. Charles West, St. Dominic and Warrenton. Meanwhile Incarnate Word Academy and Riverview Gardens joins District Three host Parkway Central May 13 along with Jennings, Normandy, Clayton, Ladue-Horton Watkins, Mary Institute-Country Day School, St. Louis Priory, University City, Villa Duchesne, Visitation Academy and Westminster Christian Academy. Sectional qualifiers from Districts Three and Four will compete May 20 in Mexico, Mo., for the right to advance to Class Four State, May 26-27 in Jefferson City.
