The Fabulous Fox Theatre has announced a season of St. Louis premiers and classic musicals in the 2017–2018 U.S. Bank Broadway Series. The six-show season ticket package includes Hamilton, The Bodyguard, On Your Feet!, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The King and I, School of Rock, and The Color Purple. The eight specials include The Book of Morman, and

The Phantom of the Opera.

   THE BODYGUARD | Oct. 3 – 15, 2017

In this award-winning musical based on the hit film, former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron (Grammy® Award-nominee Deborah Cox) from an unknown stalker. Each expects to be in charge; what they don’t expect is to fall in love. This romantic thriller features classics songs, such as “Queen of the Night,” “So Emotional,” and the hit “I Will Always Love You.”

   ON YOUR FEET! | Nov. 7 – 19, 2017

This musical biography tell the Emilio and Gloria Estefan story from their humble beginnings in Cuba and coming to America to their breaking barriers to become a crossover sensation and international superstars. Then life-threatening tragedy strikes. Will they loose it all or get on their feet? This musical features some of past quarter century’s the most iconic songs, and the director and choreographer are award-winners.

   Rodgers & Hammerstein’s THE KING AND I | Nov. 28 – Dec. 10, 2017

Set in 1860s Bangkok, the musical chronicles the unconventional, tempestuous relationship between the modernist King of Siam and Anna Leonowens, a British schoolteacher hired to teach his wives and children. One of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s finest works, this revival boasts a score that includes beloved songs such as “Getting To Know You,” “I Whistle a Happy Tune,” and “Shall We Dance.”

  SCHOOL OF ROCK | Jan. 16 – 28, 2018

Based on the hit film, this hilarious new musical follows Dewey Finn, a wannabe rock star posing as a substitute teacher who turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. This joyful, high-octane musical features 14 new Andrew Lloyd Webber songs, all the original songs from the movie, and musical theater’s first-ever kid rock band playing their instruments live on stage.

   THE COLOR PURPLE | Mar. 20 – Apr. 1, 2018

With a soul-raising score of jazz, gospel, ragtime and blues, this musical revival brings new spirit to this Pulitzer Prize-winning story. This American classic re-imagines the epic story about a young woman’s journey to love and triumph in the American South with joy and a “ravishingly reconceived production” (The New York Times) hailed as “a direct hit to the heart” (The Hollywood Reporter) directed by Tony winner John Doyle.

   HAMILTON | Apr. 3 – 22, 2018

America’s Founding Father, Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies, became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nation’s first Treasury Secretary.  Featuring a blend of hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and Broadway, this musical chronicles the story of the America Revolution, as told by America now.  Book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

New six-show season ticket packages go on sale Apr. 14 at 10 a.m. Current U.S. Bank Broadway season ticket holders will receive their renewal information beginning the week of Mar. 27. On-sale dates for individual shows will be announced later.

Tickets to the eight Broadway Series specials will be offered to 2017–2018 season ticket holders for priority seating before their public on-sale dates. In addition to The Phantom of the Opera and The Book of Morman, this season includes productions of A Christmas Carol, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz, Chicago, and, new to the Fox, Circus 1903 –The Golden Age of Circus.
