Hazelwood Offers Egg-cellent Easter Fun for Both Kids, Adults

hazelEasterEggstravaganza pg 15The City of Hazelwood is offering Easter egg fun for people of all ages. With the assistance of Valley Industries’ workers, about 15,000 Easter Eggs are being stuffed with candy in preparation for two major events.

Hazelwood is hosting its 13th Annual Adult Easter Egg Hunt on Friday, April 7, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and its popular Easter Eggstravaganza for kids, ages 10 and under, is set for Saturday, April 15, at 10 a.m.

ADULT EASTER EGG HUNT

Adults, age 21 and over, can relive some of their childhood memories at Hazelwood’s Adult Easter Egg Hunt on Friday, April 7. The event will be held in White Birch Park where nearly 7,000 eggs will be hidden throughout the park for participants to find at night. A limited number of them will contain special prizes. Participants are urged to bring a flashlight and a container for their egg search.

Ticket prices are $10 per person. They can be purchased at either the Hazelwood Community Center or Civic Center East.

Those who want to attend should act fast because the tickets are limited and will be available until March 31st or until they are sold out. Everyone on the hunt grounds must have a ticket, and be at least 21 years old. Registration begins at 7 p.m.; the hunt starts at 8 p.m.

A DJ will be playing popular tunes throughout the night. Participants will be allowed to bring their own beverages, coolers, and lawn chairs, but please leave the glass containers at home.

EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA

This event has evolved into one of North County’s biggest Easter Egg Hunts for kids, ages 10 and under. The admission is free and open to the public. Scheduled time is Saturday, April 15, at 10 a.m. – SHARP! The location is White Birch Park, 1186 Teson Road.

Over 8,000 Easter eggs will be scattered throughout the park which will be sectioned off into five areas for the following age groups: Under 24 months; Ages 2-3; Ages 4-5; Ages 6-7; and Ages 8-10.

One boy’s bike and one girl’s bike will be given away for each age group, using raffle tickets.

The Easter Bunny will make an appearance to greet the kids and pose for photos with them. Hazelwood’s 2016 Miss Hazelwood Alyssa Hotze will be escorting the Easter Bunny and passing out candy.
