The 2nd Hazelwood Food Truck Night Aug. 2 at Howdershell Park
Bring out the flip-flops, Hawaiian shirts and leis for the tropical-themed party at Howdershell Park, 6810 Howdershell Road, for the next Food Truck Night on Tuesday, August 2. Sponsored by the Hazelwood Parks and Recreation Division, this event is a great way for local residents to meet up with family, friends or neighbors for a delicious outdoor dinner in a scenic park setting.
Admission is free and open to the public. Food can be purchased from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Residents and guests will be enjoying the best of St. Louis food cuisine, offering a variety of menu options. Some of the food trucks participating in the August 2 event include Sarah’s Cakes, Locos Tacos, Andrew’s Bayou Ribs, Russo’s, Taste Budz Express, and St. Louisiana Q. A new one named Totally Toasted will be on site as well.
Starting at 6 p.m., Wizard Island will be performing the “fun in the sun” music of island legends such as Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley, Paul Simon and James Taylor. This band is known for taking people on a mental vacation with fun rock hits and island grooves.
Those who attend Hazelwood’s second Food Truck Night on August 2 are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items as a donation for T.E.A.M. Food Pantry, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Based in Florissant and supported by the St. Louis Food Bank, T.E.A.M. helps provide supplemental food and basic household items to needy families in Hazelwood and Florissant. Cash donations will be accepted as well.
