Bash at the Bay Teen Night is Back

Hazelwood’s White Birch Bay Hosting Second Teen Aquatic Night

The great turnout for Hazelwood’s first “Bash at the Bay Teen Night” this summer at White Birch Bay Aquatic Center has caused event organizers to get the word out early for teenagers, ages 13 to 17, to pre-register for the next event on Friday, July 15, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Those who pre-register by purchasing their tickets early will be guaranteed admission into the facility for this popular pool party.

Hazelwood police officers will also be directing traffic into the park, prior to the event, and handing out passes to those driving in. Once the magic number of 450 is reached, the police officers will close off the park entrance.

Teenagers should pre-register or arrive early and be among the first to stand in line. The doors open exactly at 8 p.m. as the festive party kicks into high gear.

Pre-registration tickets can be purchased in advance at Civic Center East or the Hazelwood Community Center. Prices are $7 for residents and $9 for non-residents. All attendees are required to wear appropriate swimwear – no jean cut-offs.

A DJ will be playing music all night, giving kids an opportunity to dance to their favorite tunes or listen while hanging out with their friends. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the concession stand.

“Gauging from the tremendous response we had at the first event, local teens in North County now know that Hazelwood’s Aquatic Center is the popular place to be for summertime fun,” Hazelwood’s Aquatic Center Supervisor Travis Vancil said.

“Not many municipalities offer opportunities for teenagers to hang out and have a good time on the weekends. The City of Hazelwood is taking a leadership role in creating activities to help teens stay out of trouble and have fun with other kids their age in a safe environment.”

All attractions and amenities offered at the Aquatic Center during regular operating hours will be up and running that evening. Teens will be able to play in the pool, jump off two diving boards, and go down two lightning-fast water slides. Other features include a 600-foot lazy river that generates waves, a 360° bubble slide, and a giant bucket that dumps gallons of water over a colorful play structure.
