Hazelwood Sets Public Hearing For Changes At St. Louis Outlet Mall

Owners want ‘Commercial Condos’

A public hearing on Namdar Realty Group’s request for approval to create dozens of commercial condos at the 1.2 million-square-foot St. Louis Outlet Mall will be subject of a public hearing on Wednesday, June 1 at the Hazelwood City Council meeting.

Namdar, a New York buyer of malls around the country, are recent owners of St. Louis Outlet Mall, formally St. Louis Mills. They want to allow for the commercial condos to offer them for sale to office users or other tenants that would occupy some of the empty storefront locations in the mall and help retain it has a mixed use shopping/commercial center.

The Hazelwood Plan commission had approved the request on May 12. The change will permit Namdar to pursue tenants that prefer to own their property rather than lease it. Entertainment, business and retail tenants could participate in purchasing the space.
