Rams Are A Broken Record; How ‘Bout Chase Daniel Here?

BY RANDY GARDNER

It is almost like a broken record here in my column every week. I guess I need to change the topic. I think I could almost write the same thing and then use it every week.

It would go something like this: The Rams get their butts handed to them on a platter early. Seems fitting doesn’t it. Last week the team was losing by over 40 at halftime and the same this week. This is not bad, it is disgraceful. Even I am losing faith in getting four wins this season. Sunday against the 49ers, I really sat and just keyed in on Marc Bulger and boy does he look like a boy trying to play a man’s game.

He has lost any ferocity of playing the game. He looks so uncomfortable, it’s pitiful. He is afraid to stand in the pocket and take a hit; he’s always ducking out of the way. Again, like last week, I analyzed Bulgers style against a few other QBs who I watched on Sunday and it is not even close. I really think it is time to eat that $45 million salary and start looking for the future QB of this team.

The way the Rams are playing, it looks like they are going to get a pretty good draft choice. I said it before and I will say it again, how about Chase Daniel for the Rams as a QB. He is a guy that would put people in the stands and you know he will give you one heck of an effort. The only nice thing about this week against the Bears is that we will get to see Lovie Smith back at the Dome.

3rd Straight Win For Jimmie Johnson

Congratulations to Jimmie Johnson on winning his third straight NASCAR Championship. One is hard but three in a row is almost unheard of. In talking to many people the past couple of weeks, they say that the NASCAR season is just to long. As much as I enjoy racing, I would agree. They need to shorten it by about two months. As soon as Football starts, NASCAR stops. That will free up some of the TV viewing audience on Sundays for the games. Also, maybe shorten some of the races, 4 to 6 hours in a day is a lot to invest sitting in front of the TV on a weekend.

Congrats to Hazelwood Central & East

What a weekend it was if you are a High School Football fan and are a Suburban North fan. Hazelwood Central toppled over McCluer North and Hazelwood East handily moved on in the playoffs. Unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to see much prep football this year but it would be great to see a Suburban North team at the Dome once again. . I argue with people all the time that the Suburban North has always been and continues to be the strongest division in High School Football.
