Florissant residents are invited to decorate their houses and pick up a free application for the Christmas House Decorating Contest. Beginning Nov. 23, applications can be obtained at the James J. Eagan Center, JFK Community Center and Florissant City Hall.

The Florissant Parks and Recreation Department will award prizes to the best decorated homes, including a temporary yard sign to acknowledge the first-, second- and third-place winners. The city will remove the signs within one week.

The deadline to apply is Monday Dec. 14, at 5 p.m. Judging will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16.
