Florissant Named 3rd Most Beautiful Town in Missouri

The culturetrip.com, a global website for the best of global art, food, culture, travel, and events, recently released a list of Missouri’s “most beautiful towns.” Branson was cited as the number one “most beautiful town,” with Glendale and Florissant coming in second and third. Hermann, where a lot of wineries are located, came in at number four and Manchester rounded out the top five. Pacific, St. Charles and Wildwood all made the top 10 list.

The culturetrip.com website points out that Florissant doesn’t call itself ‘the “beautiful city’ for nothing.” Not only is it just 25 minutes from downtown St Louis and adjacent to the Missouri River, it offers a scenic and historic rest place away from the big city. The following information was posted on culturetrip.com about Florissant:

“Today it is known as one of the country’s most popular retirement communities. The 20 city parks boast over 400 acres of parkland with not only ample recreation activities, but also a log cabin dating back to the 1850s and even a US fighter jet. First settled in the mid-1700s, Florissant is one of Missouri’s oldest towns. Much of its past can be found within its Old Town area, which even has remains of its Spanish settlement.”
