Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood West, IWA Soccer In Parkway Coll. Showcase

Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood West and Incarnate Word Academy Girls Soccer Teams will be participating Friday, April 3, Saturday, April 4 in the 14th Annual Parkway College Showcase.
Hazelwood Central and Incarnate Word will be playing Friday and Saturday at the Lou Fusz Soccer Park while Hazelwood West will be playing Friday at Scott Gallagher Creve Coeur.
Hazelwood Central will be playing two morning games. Friday at 10:15 a.m. against Troy Buchanan and Saturday at 7:30 a.m. (that’s right, 7:30 a.m.) against Belton.
Incarnate Word plays two morning games, also. IWA plays Friday at 10:15 a.m. against Francis Howell and Saturday at 9:15 a.m. against Neuqua Valley.
Hazelwood West plays only one game and that is a late afternoon game Friday. West plays at 5:15 against Wentzville-Timberland.
Hazelwood Central and Hazelwood West each opened their seasons in the sixth Fort Zumwalt Kickoff Tournament. Hazelwood Central won 1-0 March 23 over Wentzville-Holt while losing 4-1 March 25 to Fort Zumwalt South and 5-1 March 27 to Fort Zumwalt North. Hazelwood West played to a 0-0 tie March 23 against Eureka, lost 2-0 March 25 to Fort Zumwalt East and won 1-0 March 27 over St. Charles West.
Hazelwood Central has two goals from Alexis Turner and assist from Jessica Nast.
Incarnate Word Academy played a pair of 1-0 road games to open the season, winning March 23 at Duchesne while losing March 25 at Francis Howell North.

BASEBALL — TRINITY CATHOLIC AND LUTHERAN NORTH split a March 21 doubleheader at Lutheran North. Trinity won Game One 4-3 while Lutheran North won Game Two, 10-7.
Trinity won Game One responded to Lutheran North’s three runs in the first four innings with four unanswered runs in the last three innings including a seventh-innning run that broke a 3-3 tie. Khalil Smith scored a run and drove in another while Chris Payeur had a double. Payeur, Jason Bober and Dan Jedding each scored a run, Nick Wallace and Brendan Larkin each drove in a run and Sal Pellerito struck out 12 in a complete-game win.
In game Two Lutheran North scored five runs in the second inning after trailing 3-2 after one inning then scored three insuriance runs in the fifth. Ethan Wallace had two walks, a home run and five runs batted in, Connro Burnett had two doubles and three runs batted in, Jared Remspecher scored three runs while Lloyd Abernathy and Josh Hipenbecker each scored twice. Lutheran North used four pitchers with Zach Moravec getting credit for the win with a four-inning effort.
Lutheran North hosts a Tournament April 16-18 with Trinity and Hazelwood Central entered in it.
