FFSD Students Qualify for State DECA Competition

Students from McCluer, McCluer South-Berkeley and McCluer North High Schools headed to Lake Ozark March 15-17 to participate in the state DECA competition. DECA is an international organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality management and other business areas. DECA has over 3500 high school chapters with more than 200,000 members. In order to qualify for state competition, students competed in divisional competition. Below is a listing of DECA state qualifiers and their area of competition:

From McCluer High School: Celine Wallace and Destiny Speech (Travel and Tourism Team Decision Making) and Deja Gardner (Food Marketing Individual Series)

From McCluer South-Berkeley High School – Kennedy Reed and Raquel Haynes (Travel and Tourism Team Decision Making)

From McCluer North High School – Uvietobo Ewharekuko (Marketing Management), Stephen Brown-Young and Tatiahna Turner (Hospitality Services Team Decision Making), Kyra Clemons (Principals of Business Management and Administration), Ben Cosgrove (Retail Merchandising Series), Trelisa Harris (Restaurant and Food service Management), Gabrielle Hays and Tyra Searcy (Marketing Communications Team Decision Making), Michael Hodge (Automotive Services Marketing), and Cobi Tate (Restaurant and Food Service Management).
