Newest Stadium Plans Are Very Impressive

How about those new renderings of the stadium that is proposed for downtown St. Louis and the Rams? No matter how you feel about it financially, you have to admit that it is a beautiful stadium and that it would be a great addition to the St. Louis riverfront and skyline.

It’s awesome the way that it lays right on the riverfront overlooking the water. I think if it’s built the naysayers of the project will change their minds after it being built.

It all comes down to the financing in whether it affects the general public’s taxes if people will be in favor or not.

The whole situation is unbelievable as far as the stadium proposal in California and then the new one here in St. Louis. You have to ask yourself if it’s all smoke and mirrors so that one side gets all they ever wanted in the first place. I want a franchise and an owner of any team or business to be open and honest and really care about the effects that it has on the community.

Look how the Cardinals are vested in the community; the Blues are the same way and look at their fan bases. That is the key ingredient that is missing here, well besides the fact that we need a winning team.

The weather is playing havoc with schedules all over town, I was talking to a bunch of baseball coaches this week and they were getting ready to kick off practices this week. It’s really hard to do with 30-degree weather and 6 inches of snow on the ground. Pretty soon we will be saying it’s too hot to be outside playing a sport. That is what is crazy about St. Louis weather is that we move from one extreme to another.

Many football fans say they want that outdoor stadium for the aura of the game. Wait till it is zero outside; how will the spoiled fans of St. Louis dome football feel then. Will they still come out and watch or will it create even a bigger fan base and be real fans and not just fashion show football fans. We may sooner than we thought.

How are your new year’s resolution diets and exercise programs working? Well, mine hasn’t even started yet. I was hoping to be down by 10 pounds by now, I am actually 10 pounds heavier than at New Year’s. I cannot get motivated to get started.

I want to get into shape again but the weather, a busy schedule, kids and everything else are my excuses. I am ashamed of myself that I promote self-motivation to others and I cannot get motivated right now myself. I keep waiting for that key moment that will kick me in gear. It might be when my pants won’t button and believe me it’s not far away.

But with the Cardinals starting exhibition games on March 5 in Florida, Spring in St. Louois can’t be far away. At least we can have warm thoughts about another great season for the Redbirds.
