Civic Center Theatre Announces January Shows

The Florissant Civic Center Theatre has three shows lined up for January, including a children’s show.

Tied Up In Knotts presented by the Florissant Fine Arts Council. Jan. 11 at 2 p.m.

Tied Up in Knotts is a must-see for kids of the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s who grew up laughing at Don Knotts as Barney Fife on the Andy Griffith Show.  It’s a father-daughter story about growing up in a celebrity ‘Diva’ world with the love of Mayberry. Karen Knotts tells stories about her legendary comedian dad, Don Knotts.

Admission is $28 Adults; $26 Seniors/Students; Group rates available.

Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse from Omaha Theatre Company, presented by St. Louis Family Theatre Series. Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m., Jan. 17 and 18 at 2 p.m.

Lilly loves everything about school, especially her cool teacher, Mr. Slinger. When he confiscates her prized possession, a purple plastic purse that plays music, joy turns to misery. Lilly, who is used to being the brightest and loudest mouse around, will also have to get used to sharing the spotlight with her new baby brother in this charming adaptation of Kevin Henkes’ award-winning children’s book. Admission:  $7.  Group rates available.

The Baldknobbers Jamboree presented by the Florissant Fine Arts Council. Jan. 25 at 2 p.m.

The Branson family entertainment phenomenon began over 55 years ago in 1959 when the four Mabe brothers, known as the Baldknobbers, began entertaining visitors on the Branson Lakefront.  Today, the family legacy continues with the second and third generations of the Mabe family carrying on the family tradition of great country music and hilarious comedy.  They perform your favorite country classics, hot new country hits and lots of side-splitting comedy.
