Gracie and Lacy Christmas Show Honors Veterans and Military

U.S. military and veterans will receive special honor at “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” coming to the Robert G. Reim theatre at 111 S. Geyer Rd in Kirkwood.

Featuring the powerhouse vocals of sisters Gracie & Lacy, this show will bring your memories of Christmas past to life through harmony, tap dance, comedy and vivid retro costuming.  Active and retired servicemen and women will be recognized during the show as well as audience members who have served in the US Armed Forces.

Gracie and Lacy are literally coming “home” for Christmas themselves on their 2014 holiday tour.  Now living on the East Coast, the sister duo grew up in St. Louis and ran the theatre company “Broadway on the Driveway” for 18 seasons.  Their traveling act, managed by Swing St. Louis, has been on the road for 17 years, making them true modern-day Vaudevillians.

Gracie and Lacy feel particularly honored to have met many veterans on their travels and have entertained at patriotic events hosted by Honor Flight, Fort Knox, Jefferson Barracks, and the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency.

You too can join in the spirit of the season.  Once Gracie and Lacy hit the stage, there’s no telling what will happen next. One minute you’re in NYC with comedian Gracie Allen, the next minute, you’re ring-jing-a-jingling in the style of the Andrews Sisters and good old Bing.  You’ll find a tap-dancing Gangster in Harlem, a twelve-foot Christmas tree, a Rockette wannabe, and a dancing pony on the loose – all cleverly wrapped into a stunning 90 minute performance, complete with vintage-style costuming and a climactic Veteran’s tribute.

Show times are 2 and 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12. Tickets are available through www.metrotix.com or 314-534-1111. For more information about Gracie and Lucy, visit their website at www.GracieAndLacy.com.
