Operation Food Search (OFS) was established in 1981 to address the growing problem of hunger and has since become the largest distributor of free food in the bi-state region. Each month, Operation Food Search distributes nearly 3 million pounds of food and household items to 250 community partners, which in turn feed 190,000 local individuals each month who struggle with hunger and food insecurity. One-third of these individuals are children. For every dollar donated, Operation Food Search provides $21 worth of food and nutrition services to support the area hungry.
