Little Creek Nature Area Holds Open House

The Little Creek Nature Area, located at 2295 Dunn Road, will host a fun, free family event on Sat., Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to noon.  The event is open to the public.

The Little Creek “Homecoming” will feature fun crafts and activities for children, apple cider pressing demonstrations, a rehabilitated bird release by the World Bird Sanctuary, guided tours of the preserve’s nature trails, an Audubon Society bird-watching tour, story time by the St. Louis County Library, and a scavenger hunt.  Starbucks will provide refreshments.

An “outdoor classroom” sprawling over 96 acres of forests, prairies and farmland, Little Creek is owned and operated by the Ferguson-Florissant School District to offer hands-on learning for students in ecology, biology and environmental science. The property also includes a working farm, a butterfly garden, an arboretum, a restored prairie, a museum and a 19th-century log cabin.
