#WithNormandy: A Concert for Peace & Unity”

A coalition of St. Louis organizations will present #WithNormandy, A Concert for Peace & Unity at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28, in response to the events in Ferguson and throughout the St. Louis community.

It will be held in Viking Hall at Normandy High School, the school from which the late Michael Brown, Jr. graduated in June.  The free 90-minute event will feature a wide range of musical styles, focusing on spirituals and American songs.

Doors will open at 4 p.m. and seating will be first-come, first-served. Viking Hall at Normandy High School is located at 6701 St. Charles Rock Road.

This is one of many concerts for peace and unity being developed by St. Louis area artists who believe that the performing arts can play an important role in cultivating an environment of hope and support for the young people in north St. Louis County.

The first of these, #HealFerguson, was developed by Ferguson resident and acclaimed soul singer Brian Owens and was offered held Sept. 7 in support of the Ferguson Youth Initiative.

Partner organizations for this concert include: The Normandy Schools Collaborative, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Jazz St. Louis, The Sheldon Concert Hall, Urban League Young Professionals-St. Louis, Arts & Faith St. Louis and St. Louis Public Radio.
