Food Drive to add Ferguson Pantries continues

Citizens joining together to help those in our community who are in need!                                                              

Operation Food Search along with the I Love Ferguson groups joint efforts are continuing to collect sundry/ personal hygiene for distribution to local Ferguson food pantries to benefit residents in need.

After talking with several food pantry operators, the most difficult (non-food stamp eligible) items to get donated are the following:

  • Disposable diapers, toilet tissue, paper and styrofoam cups, paper and styrofoam plates, plastic forks, knives, spoons, paper towels, paper napkins, and tissues
  • feminine products, toothpaste and brushes, dental floss, dental grip, lip balms, deodorants, mouthwash, shaving cream, disposable razors, baby wipes, baby powder, skin lotions, dish soap, dishwasher tablets, shampoo, body wash, bath and face soaps
  • Laundry detergent and fabric softener, bleach, Ajax, Comet, Pinesol, deodorizers, air fresheners, furniture polish, floor cleaners, toilet bowl cleaner, mops, buckets, brooms, waste cans, and sponges
  • Kitchen and large size trash bags, and paper lawn leaf bags
  • Mustard, ketchup, spices, shoe laces, kitchen and bath towels, kitchen and bath cloths
  • We will collect dog and cat food, preferably small bags or cans, treats and chews, collars, leashes, kitty litter and toys.

The major PUSH is DISPOSABLE DIAPERS and lots of them, especially toddler sizes.

They’re also collecting food items, especially canned meats-ham, chicken, corned beef, turkey, pork, deviled ham, spam, tuna, salmon, etc.

Soups, both canned and dry mixes, raviolis, canned pastas, spices, cooking oils and sprays etc.
