Don Bond Plaque Unveiled

to unveil the plaque for the man that was often called “Mr. North County.”

Family and friends gathered in front Stems Florist at 301 rue St. Francois , on Aug. 27 to unveil the 18th Walk Through History plaque in honor of the late Donald L. Bond. Don was known as “Mr. North County”.

He served as a Florissant City Councilman from 1959-1977 and served as a St. Louis County Councilman from 1977 to 1990. He earned a reputation for fighting for his constituents and for a high quality of life in Florissant and North County. First and foremost he was a family man but was always easily accessible to the people he served and was known for hosting annual picnics that were legendary.

Don was a successful businessman with an insurance office on rue St. Francois. He and his wife Loraine raised four children. Their son Ken served on the Florissant City Council from 1977 to 2000 and daughter Jackie Bond- Pagano is the council pepresentative for Ward 7 since 2012.
