World’s Fair Heritage Festival at Forest Park

Weekend events include Food, Games, Art

The 1st Annual St. Louis World’s Fare Heritage Festival and Games is coming to Forest Park this weekend, Sept. 12-14 in the areas surrounding Art Hill and The Grand Basin.

The St. Louis World’s Fare will feature live art exhibits, Band competitions, a vast variety of foods from 30 local restaurants and 10 dessert booths, a Chef’s Challenge, Dance Competition, World Business Expo and sporting events and other activities.

There will be games and interactive displays for children at Kids Island near the Boathouse, Educational/Historic displays and sporting events that were part of the III Olympiad that was held in conjunction with the 1904 St. Louis Worlds Fair, which also serves as the theme of the festival.

One of the events features Independent News columnist Tom Anselm and his daughter, Mary Pat Jacobs. The will be performing a radio reenactment/musical play called “Lights on the Grand Basin” by Jack Za The performance will be Saturday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. on The Main Stage at the foot of Art Hill.
