Register Starting March 3 for Free FF Schools Preschool Programs

The Ferguson-Florissant School District offers free, quality preschool taught by certified teachers for resident children, three to five years old. Three-year-olds attend class two mornings per week; 4-year-olds attend three or four half-days.  Families also receive home visits.

Enrollment begins on March 3. In order to register, parents must complete an enrollment packet which can be picked up at the district’s Administration Center located at 1005 Waterford Drive in Florissant or by downloading the packet from the district’s website. Parent’s must also provide their child’s updated immunization records, state issued birth certificate, child’s social security number, parent’s driver’s license or state identification card, proof of residency dated within the last ninety days and a current utility bill.

Preschool-age children who have special needs may receive appropriate services in classes or through itinerant programming through the Early Childhood Special Education Program. Families are offered Parents as Teachers visits.  This program is free.

Head Start preschool classes for 3- and 4- year-olds are available.  Families receive Parents as Teachers personal visits. Head Start income and employment based eligibility is necessary.

Parents as Teachers offers a free program for all families with children ages’ birth to 5 years.  This program provides free personal visits, parent-child activities, developmental information, screenings and prenatal visits with degreed certified parent educators.

LINK Family Time offers free weekly speakers and discussion meetings on family related topics.  Activities for babies and preschoolers are available while parents are in meetings.

A free developmental screening is designed for all young children, ages 3 months to 5 years.  Hearing and vision are also checked.   Limited spaces available in some programs. Call 314-506-9066.
