  Applications for the 2014 Valley of Flowers Queen Candidates still  available.  The deadline has been extended until Feb. 27. They may be picked up at the Valley of Flowers office, 601 rue St. Charles, Florissant MO 63031.  Applications are also available by request to 314-837-0033 via mail, email or fax or download from the website at www.florissantvalleyofflowers.com.

Candidates must be 16 years of age by April 30, 2014, a junior in high school, and a resident of the City of Florissant.  Candidates must be sponsored by a business.  However, the business does not have to be located in Florissant.  The number of candidates is limited to 25.  Candidates will be selected in the order in which the completed application is received by the Valley of Flowers office.

Rules and regulations for queen candidates are included with the application.  Completed applications will be accepted until Feb. 27. The parade theme this year is “Valley of Flowers Salutes St. Louis’ 250^th Birthday”.

Judging will take place at the James J. Eagan Center on Sunday, April 6.  A dinner to recognize the candidates, sponsors and families will follow.  Candidates are judged on poise and personality. The winner will be announced after the Valley of Flowers Parade on Sunday, May 4. A scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded the Queen upon completion of her reign along with many other gifts and prizes.
