Hazelwood NW Middle School Gets State Honor

Hazelwood Northwest Middle School has been nominated for a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Award of Excellence from the state of Missouri.

The school is being recognized for its visible presence and implementation of the PBIS program for 2007-2008. The nomination is significant given recent middle school transitions, and although the program is in its second year at Hazelwood Northwest Middle, it is the first for new students and staff.

The mission of Missouri Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support (SW-PBS) is to assist schools and districts in establishing and maintaining school environments where the social culture and behavioral supports needed to be an effective learning environment is in place for all students.
