The 25th Annual Project Lift-Off Holiday Party was held on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the James J. Eagan Center. Project Lift-Off was started by Mayor Tom Schneider in 1989 when he served on the city council. The event is a drug free, alcohol free and tobacco free holiday party for students in grades 508. It is sponsored by the City of Florissant, the city’s Youth Advisory Commission and the police department’s Drug and Alcohol Resistance Education (DARE) program.

The large crowd enjoyed ice skating, swimming, and games at the Eagan Center. A DJ played music and the kids enjoyed pizza and soda.

Schneider sent his thanks to Todd Schmidt, the Director of Parks, and his staff for all their hard work with the party. He also thanked Police Chief Tim Lowery for his support of the DARE program and DARE Officer Lessie Summers for her work teaching DARE in the classroom.
